Virginia Air Wing status WARNING

posted Sep 2, 2016, 8:21 PM by Richard Qualls
The readiness status of VAWG is now changed to WARNING.  As of 1100 hrs today, the NWS has issued a TROPICAL STORM WARNING for all of the VA coastal region, most of the Chesapeake Bay and parts of our tidal rivers off the Bay.  While the projected storm track will have the center pass east of VA, please remember that the tropical storm winds and other effects will extend more than 100 miles west of the center and well into VA.  We need to be prepared for rough weather throughout VA, including severe T-storms and possible tornadoes.

ES qualified personnel assess their readiness to respond on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday as needed and respond for possible mission tasking.
