CAP ICUT Communications Training

posted Nov 19, 2015, 1:22 PM by Richard Qualls
The Civil Air Patrol communications system includes thousands of HF and VHF radios with trained operators across the United States. This system operates in support of all CAP missions, including Emergency Services, Aerospace Education and the CAP Cadet Program. The focus of the CAP system is tactical communications, including air to ground, ground team to ground team, and communication with mission base.

Civil Air Patrol Introductory Communications User Training (ICUT) is the initial training for all CAP personnel to use CAP radios. ICUT training has two phases, an online course and a hands on practical evaluation which will be conducted at the squadron.

If you have not completed ICUT, please start today so that you can become authorized to operate CAP radios and complete higher levels of training such as Ground Team Member and Mission Radio Operator.
