THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WAKEFIELD HAS ISSUED A HIGH SURF
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM SUNDAY TO 6 AM EST
MONDAY. A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY HAS ALSO BEEN ISSUED. THIS
COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO NOON EST SUNDAY.

* LOCATION...VIRGINIA BEACH.

* TIMING/IMPACTS...WATER LEVELS WILL APPROACH MINOR FLOODING
  THRESHOLDS WITHIN A FEW HOURS EITHER SIDE OF HIGH TIDE SUNDAY
  MORNING.

* TIDES...TIDAL DEPARTURES WILL RISE TO BETWEEN 1.5 AND 2.0 FEET
  ABOVE NORMAL DURING THE HIGH TIDE CYCLE SUNDAY MORNING.

* WAVES AND SURF...8 TO 10 FOOT WAVES JUST OFFSHORE AND IN THE
  SURF ZONE ARE EXPECTED SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN
THE ADVISORY AREA. LIFE THREATENING RIP CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED
BEACH EROSION WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE.

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY INDICATES THAT ONSHORE WINDS...TIDES AND
/ OR WAVE ACTION WILL COMBINE TO CREATE FLOODING OF LOW AREAS
ALONG THE SHORE...AND NEAR TIDAL RIVERS AND CREEKS. BE PREPARED
FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF ROAD CLOSURES AND MINOR FLOODING OF
PROPERTIES. IF TRAVEL IS NECESSARY...DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE
THROUGH WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH.

  CURRITUCK COUNTY NORTH CAROLINA.

* TIMING: EARLY SUNDAY MORNING UNTIL SUNDAY EVENING.

* WIND: NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS AVERAGING 25 TO 35 MPH WITH
  GUSTS TO 45 MPH. GUSTS TO 50 MPH ARE EXPECTED ON THE CURRITUCK
  OUTER BANKS.

* IMPACTS: STRONG WIND GUSTS MAY RESULT IN DOWNED TREE LIMBS AND
  SPORADIC POWER OUTAGES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE
31 TO 39 MPH OR GUSTS WILL RANGE BETWEEN 46 AND 57 MPH.  WINDS OF
THESE MAGNITUDES MAY CAUSE MINOR PROPERTY DAMAGE WITHOUT EXTRA
PRECAUTIONS. MOTORISTS IN HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES SHOULD USE CAUTION
UNTIL THE WINDS SUBSIDE.
